I just saw that promo poster of the SP drama, for some reason the first thing that came to my mind was 肉骨茶 (bakkuteh) when I saw that naked nino shoulders poster-pic XD
the color/texture/皮包骨+廋肉+排骨... yup, 肉骨茶 bakkuteh nino XDD
So I guess next time I have bakkuteh, I will think of nino LOL!!
aah back to packing.. I really missed you guys at vox!

I grew up in the late 70s and 80s (only slightly older than Ohchan lol).
Charlie's Angels was on TV.
My cousin sisters whom I grew up with, three of us used to 'role-play' Charlie's Angels.
I was the smart brunette one lol.
It was silly. But we were mere pre-schoolers lol.
Black and white Ultraman was also on TV,
so was "Once upon a time.. space", one of my brother and my fave animations.
銀河鉄道999, 宇宙戦艦ヤマト, and old school gundam were on video tapes.
Kimisawa, a Japanese shopping mall back then, was still in Damansara Jaya.
A time when there's only one Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant (it wasn't KFC) and only one A&W in town.
Going to these two "restaurants" were like family weekend outing event.

Michael Jackson's "Ben" was on one of our family cassette tapes.
We also had "Off the Wall" album on cassette tape.
"Rock with you" was my fave fave song on that tape, I was a kiddo.
At the time, there were also "Saturday Night Fever", The Bee Gees, Stevie Wonder, The Carpenters and many more; including old school showa japanese songs and HK songs (old school Samuel Hui, and those TVB dorama songs composed by 顧家輝) among the many cassette tapes / vinyls my family owned.
I can't call myself a hardcore fan of MJ, but I grew up listening to his songs.
He was part of my happy childhood memories.

I was just getting into elementary school when "Thriller" was released.
I can recall the whole song and arrangement of "Billie Jean" in my brain.
That killer bass line. The beat. The intensity. The moon walk.
Of course, MJ went on to release "Bad" and created more hits.
But my faves songs of his still remained from the "Off the Wall" and "Thriller" albums.
Perhaps old school MJ reminds me of my own happy childhood growing up in KL.
A time and space that I long to return, but could never return, except when I close my eyes.

So thank you, Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett; thanks for the happy memories. R.I.P.

It just hit me that in 7 working days' time I'll be out of a job D:
yet, I still can't get myself to face the editing of the resume... my tech skills are now so obsolete (company uses old tech) and I have no interests in working for corporations again; and job market is bad even if I wanted to. It's quite depressing facing the resume, I hope I snap out of this mode soon.

Why can't I paint/draw as a living? I'd be more enthusiastic and able to put more selling points in writing an art-related resume... alas I don't have an art degree D:

I wasn't really away, but was on that freaking 24/7 support roster last week might as well consider myself away lols.
So glad to hand back that mobile phone to the office today!!
But long day nonetheless 'cause I signed up for a short art class after work - my first ever art class lols!!

I actually wanted to sign up for the art portfolio making class (just in case I go through mini midlife crisis and want a career change.. wait.. that's me now I guess xD) but it's already full..
my 2nd choice class is not scheduled to run due to not enough students D=
and this "Intro to Drawing and Painting" (once a week for 5 weeks) is the only one that suits my timetable...
oh well, better than nothing, since I've never really gone through proper training learning the basics...

... turns out that it's too basic XDD
still, I had lots of fun doing the contour drawing, drawing with reference picture upside down etc..
... it's training the right brain, the teacher said.
The teacher also said I draw too fast, should slow down.
And my still objects drawings are too "lively" xDD
Aah well, I'm proud of my old habits lols.
Homework for this week... drawing/contour drawing random still objects, vacuum cleaner, toothbrush and so on..
I should get a cheap sketchbook and draw all week......

just as my internet connection kinda got a little stable.. my computer crashed Dx
and mostly due to the HD too full of arashi but anyway, thanks to my cousin it's now fixed and I got this external HD that I'm gonna move files to and do some more clean up........

so.. what did I miss?
all I know was the last time I checked amazon.co.jp for Switch magazine (I was doing that for like 10 times a day until my computer crashed), it wasn't available to order yet (I entered my email to it to get notified).
But the next thing I know they've already sold out and those resellers are selling the 735yen magazine for like 2500yen.. and there's this one seller classifying the mag as a "collector item" and selling it for 7350yen.
wtf fangirls?! are you turning arashi to be the next bubble?!

so, yeah, no arashi Switch mag for me then.
amazon.jp should so apply the one item for one customer rule to magazines with arashi on too I think lols.

anyway, arashi wise, what else did I miss?

I really had to write it out but then felt silly about it since I have no idea what to reply back since gah it's a constant battle with this RL thing!! aaaah some ppl have good life, some ppl have challenging life, life's never fair and one shouldn't compare and just. keep. surviving lols.

Okay, so here's Day#1:

Wasn't online much recently due to ohnoes-RL-dooms-and-glooms, but happened to have a little extra time just now to quick-browse through neighborhood a bit and it appeared that Katz tagged me to do this Happiness Meme... which kinda forced me to think of happy stuff.. so I got happy lols.

Here's a happy thing happened today:

I was able to reach home a bit earlier than usual from work today.

Welcomed by the 6:42pm still bright and sunny summer evening with light breeze and a newly unemployed hubby at the door, I suggested let's go for a walk (to the local mini mart and get some beer <- hubby's suggestion).

So, for the first time in 8 months we're able to take an evening walk together, in this nice day; as he no longer busily working 'til late hours lols.

aaaaah well, there still had to be some happiness coming out of this doom and gloom and freaking recession *shakes fists roar* Tomorrow fight-o!

PS: Congrats Arashi!! Now that makes everyone happy!
