Maou episode 1: rain man vs running man.

Maou episode#1.. what can I say? Totally blown away! Even if spoiled by all those promo clips I was totally blown away! The mood, the setting, the lighting, the camera work, the pacing, the soundtrack, and last but not least; intense acting by both Toma and Ohchan! *spoilers ahead*

I thought Toma was good playing the over-the-top atsui detective running and yelling throughout the episode. He didn't seem to be too over-acting since that's the kind of character he's playing, as if if he started to slow down and reflect his dark past would consume him... hence he had to keep running and chasing, to redeem and to run away before the past catches up *eeks cliche button was on*... so yes, his acting didn't distract me at all; especially the reenactment scene, that was impressive. I could feel his sweat and anguish. And the scene at the end where he's clutching his head digging into his knees was heart breaking. It's so sad that the incident happened when they were so young.

Now Ohchan. Ohno-san. He truly blown me away! So much emotion's going on on an emotionless face, how did you do that, Ohno-san? The eyes, from profound sadness to heartless cold in a split second. The way he delivered the lines, the movements, his beautiful hands and fingers clutching the knife or the harmonica. Break my heart. Gone speechless now.

Ninochan's cameo was too short! And I gotta say Ohchan's acting kinda defeated Ninochan's in that scene xD Gotta give the boy work or he'll get rusty joking joking. Then again, to be fair, I think that's the character too... if I were him I would be a bit off too; so Nino's able to convey that naturally heheh. Ah make me thirst for more Nino's acting!

The rest of the supporting actors were good too, I'm still not warm to the girl actress though, hope she will improve.

Apart from acting, I like the pace and cut scenes; they were extremely well done. For instance: Intro of Ohchan's character at the narration of the story of lucifer; and at the start we see Ohchan walking along the corridor while Toma running on the street; the girl commented the person who wrote the letter and sent the card was heartless then switched to a crying Ohchan; the interchange of Toma and Ohchan's expressions during the reenactment... there were many and these were just a few. I haven't been excited for a series for a long long time now, truly impressed with MAOU!! MA-OH! <3

heh changed my layout to be maou like =D BtwI forgot to talk about the opening song "truth"! long comment short: love it! even if the opening images look so much like anime opening.. what I'd expected from death note or something xDD love the song too of course! write more another time!

.. in less than 2.5 hours' time! Ohchan~~~~~~~~~!!
and I was wearing my red gloves and using red pen today, Toma would be proud heheh.
Plus we will get to see Nino's act too! It's been such a long time!
Speaking of Nino, is he gonna change his diary to "Magic Nikki X"?
"Magic Otaku" is even more nerdy than "Game Otaku".. just saying...
and he seriously looked like a magic tragic in that Utaban Talk lols.
Anyway, catch up and reply more later.

PS: Forgot to mention, after watching those countless of promos.. one could pretty much tell Toma's character's involvement 11 years ago... spoilers much? xD

noting down some of my favorite scenes =)
We all know OhMiya are very much in synch.. didn't realize Ohchan and Toma are quite in synch too!

Ah Ohchan! Can you be any cuter?!
announcing on national tv that your "daisuki na" is Ninomiya xD
what's more, in such a matter of fact expression lols. *Toma cracked up*

Then they showed the Nino guest star scene, the extremely close distance intense staring - which looks more like some angsty love scene lols!

When they panned back to the studio, poor Toma's dying to stop his giggling to Ohchan's amusement.. Toma's waving his hand trying to say that it's nothing.. then took a look at the bemused Ohchan, cracked up hard again xDDD

aah gonna look forward to MAOU! But before that, Riida and Toma in TFP2!! <3
alas it's my turn to be on that lkajsdlfal work roster again next week a;lkdjalkjflkjd xD

so much catch ups, so much flailing.
Yesterday had lunch with Gwen, my Nino-buddy is flying back to Singapore soon! I'm gonna miss her T_T

And then, I just came back from a 4.5 hours mini arashi-kai (even though I'm still recovering lols).
See, I have these two RL friends (they're originally online friends from old fandom waay back years ago)... but recently! They've become ARASHI fans! So, "new found" Arashi-buddies in Melbourne! Although we've been good friends for years lols. One is Ohchan-baited, the other is Aibachan-baited xD
Thanks for the high-tension evening! Of course, the Japanese meals at our old meeting place is always great heh.

It's flu season apparently! It's just turned winter here in southern hemisphere, and summer in northern hemisphere. A change of seasons tend to do this to us. Take care all!

ps: the washing machine still broke.. so the soaking wet clothes are now in my aiba-buckets and ohchan-bucket. aaah $$ flying away for the fixing and most likely new washing machine. Speaking of which, my vacuum cleaner doesn't suck too.. no, not good in this case lols. oh and I burned my finger when making soba just now argh alkdjf XDD

This is for aishoni or anyone who's interested re that Maou "Nino clutching on Ohchan's shirt collar against the wall" image (thanks Nanao!).. there's a description underneath that image describing the intense scene... it says.. *SPOILER AHEAD*
.....

"殺された熊田の息子役の二宮くんが大野くん演じる領につかみかかる、緊迫感あふれるシーンに登場。"

oh, and in the article:
"気になる役どころは、連續殺人事件の最初の犧牲者となる弁護士の息子．熊田正義。"

so.... which means, Nino's character is the son of the murdered lawyer, who was the first victim of a series of murders.

Since I refuse to watch the Korean dorama to avoid comparison, I don't know the story.. but at least we know the character Nino's playing in MAOU is probably not a 15 seconds random dude ~~but hopefully not a 15 seconds angry dude either~~ :D

uwaaah I can't wait..!! That image makes me flail so much!
I demand more intense acting between both of my ichibans (Nino and Ohchan :DD)!

PS: and that Nino there totally made me think of the Tony Leung Chiu-Wai in my head *_*
