".. Bruno
is constantly talking. He annoys me because he talks too much *laugh*..."
That's what Nino said re his "Strangers on a Train" character xD.. and I couldn't agree more LOL!
After reading the interviews, I seriously seriously want them to release this butai onto dvd! I'd even pick up 3 copies (like I always do, over pre-ordering and forget to cancel the extras lol)
I want to see Nino act in "Strangers on a Train"! Brunino!
For more, please read the translated interview articles at ozarashi's entry, thanks so much again!!
EDIT:
"If you
were after a character who was extremely unusual, I would say Naoya from
‘Shibuya kara tooku hanarete’…
That was a play that left impression on everyone who saw it MEISAKU created by Yukio and Iwamatsu Ryou, wasn’t it?
“It
was a great play. But I cannot play that character anymore. I have lost such a
pure heart of a young boy *laugh*."
- translated by ozarashi =)
Now, they better release ALL the Nino butai on dvd! Please please pretty please! Just take my $, take it xD
ps: here's waiting for kind souls to upload vs arashi.. gackto vs arashi... I wonder how that went <3
Gackto VS Arashi! On 4th July! His birthday!
Don't ask me how old he's turning, we in twitter assuming his age has to be around 501 lol.
Have been tweeting about him non-stopped since yesterday, when I found out that he's gonna be in VS Arashi!! Lots of reminiscing!
I was in the Gackt fandom around 2000~2002!
I dropped out of the Gackt fandom when he got a bit too moon crazy + costly
My first CD of Gackt: "Mizerable", his first solo EP after leaving the band Malice Mizer.
"Mizerable" remains my all time favorite song of his!
So beautiful, so catchy, so awesome, so silly (the pv and gackto in general, despite being a super-talented-genius lol), and oh so dramatic on stage as always: the dance the gackto-heart-clutching-swaying dance <33
Joking aside, I truly love his creative talents, musical talents (composes/writes his own songs, multi-instrumentalist), and honey-deep voice! <- although sometimes too dramatic, like when he sang 12gatsu no love song.. in japanese, english, chinese, korean, martians... sorry sorry, I always can't help poke fun gackto's way 'cause that's how I show affection to him <3
Afterall, the dude himself is awesomely funny and has great unique sense of humour!
I used to catch Domoto Kyoudai because of Gackto just to hear his funny stories and commentaries, not Kinki Kids :D
oh and love his numerous Gundam impersonations (another fandom crashing since I heart old school Gundam lol)!
And who could forget his four-day-buta-curry making starting off with kaku-niku shopping? XD
Here's an utaban clip from 2000, btw Taka-san and Nakai looked so young!!
aah funny Gackto ftw! oh and for those who don't know, he was in taiga drama Fuurin Kazan two years ago.. his dramatic acting really suits the character, although he truly resembles manga/anime characters more than anything...
Enough ramblings, guess I'm just glad to see Gackto again, I truly miss the silly dude/alien-vampire <3
I might have to start buying your CD again for old time sake lol.
Guess we shall find out who wins in VS Arashi.. you or my current love Arashi <33
Anyway, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Gackto!!
Then there was a ray of sunshine.
A FedEx van parked outside.
Then it rained again.
Raining inside.
The songs are so beautiful!
I love Season the first time round when it was played in the Nino+cat au cm.
and I love Everything even from the brief moments it was played in the cm.
Listening to both of them clearly now in full length, love them even more!
Moreover, how beautiful the PV is!
First viewing reminded me of a few Bump of Chicken's PVs.. the feel of a group of childhood best friends who grew up together (btw Bump of Chicken members are childhood best friends who grew up together lol)...
Back to Arashi, they've been more or less together for more than 10 years since juniors days.. aren't they also consider 'childhood friends who grew up together'?
Well, that's the feel that I got from watching the PV.
They're so natural and comfortable with each other, the five very different individuals as the most awesome cohesive group. Watching them singing facing each other in a circle with individual's movements so in synch.. watching them walking; viewing from the back, a group of brothers / childhood friends pursuing this path together.
Really brought me to tears lol.
this is done using white pencil on black paper.. 'cause when reading the book, the image I get is all black and white (and trying hard to imagine non-blond Nino!Bruno with Sho!Guy xDD)...
seriously.
book!bruno whined a little too much sometimes, not as bad as emo!harrypotter but ^^;
still, emo psychotic obsessive/depressive intense whiny mama boy?
Nino would nail it perfectly!
he'd even make bruno more likable 'cause we know how charming our little monster can be <3
After watching the first 15 minutes of Alfred Hitchcock's adaptation.. I decided not to continue with it for now because the image of Bruno from that actor is too strong/overpowering!
It's awesome and captivating (hey it's hitchcock) but I had a hard time substituting Nino as Bruno xD.. maybe I'll continue a year later or something lol.
One more day, one more day until July; I can get my normal internet speed back.
So will catch up with neighborhood and dl Arashi shows then!
Catch up and reply later!
I grew up in the late 70s and 80s (only slightly older than Ohchan lol).
Charlie's Angels was on TV.
My cousin sisters whom I grew up with, three of us used to 'role-play' Charlie's Angels.
I was the smart brunette one lol.
It was silly. But we were mere pre-schoolers lol.
Black and white Ultraman was also on TV,
so was "Once upon a time.. space", one of my brother and my fave animations.
銀河鉄道999, 宇宙戦艦ヤマト, and old school gundam were on video tapes.
Kimisawa, a Japanese shopping mall back then, was still in Damansara Jaya.
A time when there's only one Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant (it wasn't KFC) and only one A&W in town.
Going to these two "restaurants" were like family weekend outing event.
Michael Jackson's "Ben" was on one of our family cassette tapes.
We also had "Off the Wall" album on cassette tape.
"Rock with you" was my fave fave song on that tape, I was a kiddo.
At the time, there were also "Saturday Night Fever", The Bee Gees, Stevie Wonder, The Carpenters and many more; including old school showa japanese songs and HK songs (old school Samuel Hui, and those TVB dorama songs composed by 顧家輝) among the many cassette tapes / vinyls my family owned.
I can't call myself a hardcore fan of MJ, but I grew up listening to his songs.
He was part of my happy childhood memories.
I was just getting into elementary school when "Thriller" was released.
I can recall the whole song and arrangement of "Billie Jean" in my brain.
That killer bass line. The beat. The intensity. The moon walk.
Of course, MJ went on to release "Bad" and created more hits.
But my faves songs of his still remained from the "Off the Wall" and "Thriller" albums.
Perhaps old school MJ reminds me of my own happy childhood growing up in KL.
A time and space that I long to return, but could never return, except when I close my eyes.
So thank you, Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett; thanks for the happy memories. R.I.P.
PS:
I was reading digg.com on one of the MJ thread..
I like this comment by EtherealSOC:
"The greatest performer who ever lived. It's strange, but I'd be
happier if he died at the age of 80, old and broken and giving society
enough time to view his work through the passage of time and eras. I'd
even be happier if he died at the height of his fame, in the late
1980's, and he would have been immortalized as a hero of epic
proportions. Now he dies a spectacle, loved by many but
destested by many as well, and this spectrum is so wide and yet so
polar that it doesn't reflect the kind of creative genius and visionary
philanthropist that he became. At his root he was a very sad and scared
man, living a twisted existence on the verge of reality, and even more
than grieve at his passing, I feel sorry that the world might not
understand what it just lost..."
PS again:my internet bandwidth is exceeded for this month, so won't be able to reply/catch up until July D:can't wait 'til July.. I can catch up with more old school MJ songs and videos and of course Arashi shows too.
Tomorrow is my last day at work.. and also all my work colleagues' last day at work too (we're all been redundant D:)...
so we're just gonna go to the office and head straight to the big farewell party.......
It's gonna be quite sad since many of us have worked there for many many years.....
And... we'll be wishing each other "All The Best"..
"All the best!"
"All the best!!"
and will be quite sad and emotional..
but at the same time, I'll be giggling inside.....
hey, sounds like we're all doing free promotion for Arashi xD
aaah. life.
always so strange.
All The Best, Arashi!!
All The Best, to everyone, especially to my hubby and me!
PS: Thanks Steffi for your text message! I was able to pre-order the limited edition at work today!!
Catch up / reply later!
At long last I've found Patricia Highsmith's "Strangers on a Train" in a bookshop!! xD
bought it! (couldn't wait for that one and only library copy which is currently out on loan.....)
Nino!Bruno here I come <3
edit: erk.. it's really distracting trying to get into Nino!GayBruno with all those online ads featuring SashaBarenCohen!GayBruno *shudders*
EDIT THE NEXT DAY:
Hahahah I've been reading Bruno as Nino and Guy as Sho-kun xDDDDD entertaining value skyrockets!
ps:
reply more and catch up another time.
It's been strange the past days.
and feeling very strange too.
Three more days until I'm out of a job.
I've been with this company for like a decade?
very very strange feeling. a bit lost.
hmmmmmmm.
catch up later.
Our super actor magician gamer prankster philosopher sharp tongue biggest arashi fan xD
Hope you have a happy happy day!
Nino Day for me was nice, I caught up with a Japanese friend (student here) for lunch - she's returning my Ryuusei DVD so yeah we talked about Nino over lunch and coffee xD
First photo shows the awesomely delicious salmon sashimi donburi, it's so delicious that I forgot to take a photo before I dived in lols! So here it is, nearly finished eating..
And then we had cake and coffee straight after lunch.
There're no yellow looking cakes so I picked the Shoberry cheesecake, I think Nino wouldn't mind heh it was delicious!
Okay, art wise, here's the puppy-eyed series (apart from the "strangers on a train" butai pic ^^) -
Which medium version(s) do you like best?
Following the same theme but to be different, I made this as a wrapped up art for the Nino matsuri:
a chibi-puppy-eyed Nino bookmark <3
Didn't have time to buy a yellow ribbon today for it, so I used a huge ribbon (from some chocolate box) instead xD
... ^^; to be painted maybe.
<whine>
It just hit me that in 7 working days' time I'll be out of a job D:
yet, I still can't get myself to face the editing of the resume... my tech skills are now so obsolete (company uses old tech) and I have no interests in working for corporations again; and job market is bad even if I wanted to. It's quite depressing facing the resume, I hope I snap out of this mode soon.
Why can't I paint/draw as a living? I'd be more enthusiastic and able to put more selling points in writing an art-related resume... alas I don't have an art degree D:
</whine>
Anyone willing to hire artist? arashi artist? heck I would even draw kattun if I get paid commissions for it D:
Catch up / reply more later.
It's Nino's birthday eve already!
ps: other news... LIFE SIZE GUNDAM *_* http://www.flickr.com/photos/tags/rx782/
I especially like this one since it looks like it's walking behind those trees!! http://img192.imageshack.us/img192/2871/vywisp.jpg
i've always liked to watch Gackt on Utaban! he's definitely one of a kind...and his unusual humorous side always surprised... read more
on the day my old fandom crashing into my current fandom..
